IRONSKALD crest in aged copper on carved dark timber

Hand-braided copper, made at the bench

Born from Myth, Worn for a Lifetime

Every Ironskald piece is braided by hand from solid copper, then burnished and left to earn its patina.

Our creed

Not costume. Not nostalgia. Objects of enduring character.

Ironskald translates the elemental language of the north — copper, fire, timber and story — into considered pieces for the present. Weighted, restrained, made with intent.

Our craft

Braided by hand, not by machine

A single cuff can take nine days. The braid is worked under tension, hardened, filed and burnished until it holds its own line.

Our craft

Copper & patina

Copper changes with its wearer.

Left alone, a braid moves from bright rose through amber to a deep, settled bronze, and the recesses go darker still. Every mark becomes part of the piece. A copper cloth and two minutes returns the original glow, whenever you want it.

Care & patina guidance

I

Braided entirely by hand

Every strand is drawn, woven under tension and burnished at the bench. Nothing is cast or plated.

II

Solid copper, living character

Copper answers skin and air. It darkens, brightens and records the years it has been worn.

III

Made in small runs

Fewer pieces, closer attention. Some patterns are made once and then retired.

The Ironskald saga

Iron is the material.
Skald is the storyteller.

We were founded on a simple conviction: what we wear should carry meaning, grow richer with time and stand apart from the disposable.
