Our craft
Made at the bench, not on a line
Ironskald pieces are worked by hand in small batches. Nothing is cast, nothing is mass-plated.
Process
Four stages, one braid
Stage 1
Drawing
Solid copper wire is drawn down to working gauge and annealed soft.
Stage 2
Braiding
Strands are braided by hand — the tension decides the final character.
Stage 3
Terminals
Ends are bound, soldered and shaped into weighted, wearable terminals.
Stage 4
Finishing
Burnished, sealed where needed, then left to take its own patina.
